Typical engineering degrees require 120-130 credit hours if going in semesters and around 180-190 credit hours for quarters.  A credit hour is typically a contact hour per week.  

To compare this to the cost per hour associated with DMSS training, travel costs are excluded as the same type of issue would occur with university attendance.  Only Tuition, Room/Board type comparisons will be made.  Typical  rates in Hotels are about $149 per night and around $30 for a couple meals, 20 nights total.

The cost of $61.38 per hour compared to $110-$131 is a huge savings.        

A comparison to some other six sigma type courses for larger cities show:

8 days for $4000 + $960 lodging = $4960/64 hours = $77 per hour (excludes meals)

5 days for $1999 + $695 lodging = $2694/34 hours = $79 per hour (excludes meals)
