Victor M. Vukorpa​

Mr. Vukorpa recently retired after 32 years with Whirlpool Corporation and 36 years in corporate America.  He currently consults with industry and is a Professor at Western Michigan University.  He is a Senior Master Black Belt and led Whirlpool’s Global Operational Excellence (OPEX) six sigma program.  While at Whirlpool he worked primarily in product test and development on dishwashers, automatic washers and cooking products.  His real passion is teaching, mentoring, applying Six Sigma with Lean concepts and tools to solve technical problems.   He became a Whirlpool certified Blackbelt in 1998 and a certified Master Blackbelt in 2004.  He has taught numerous classes in the U.S., Europe, Brazil, China and Mexico.  He spent 8 years teaching and mentoring Whirlpool suppliers in the application of OPEX concepts and tools while also leading the Technical Manager’s training classes at Whirlpool.  Mr. Vukorpa received his BSME from Michigan Technological University in 1982.  He received his MSME from Western Michigan University in 1993 and has taught Advanced Product Design at WMU since 2005.
